You have a couple of options to install the MT4 app for android:
a) Locate ‘MetaTrader 4’ by ‘MetaQuotes Software Corporation’ on Google Play on your Phone’s app store.
b) Use our Cryptorocket MetaTrader 4 Android direct link which will redirect you straight to the app store to download this. If you’re an IOS user and have found yourself on this guide accidentally, use this direct link for the Cryptorocket MetaTrader 4 IOS direct link instead.
Login to MT4
Upon opening Metatrader 4 you will arrive at a chart window
Tap the menu button and select the user symbol, then the + symbol.
You can choose between ‘Login with existing account’ if you have a Real account or you can ‘Open a demo account’ instead.
To login to your Cryptorocket account, you will have to search for our server one you have selected ‘Login to an account’. In order to login with a Real account or existing Demo account type ‘Cryptorocket’ in the find a broker menu.
Select demo or live, corresponding to your account. Then type in your login and password credentials. You’ll then be redirected to the chart menu.
Open a Demo Account
In order to open a demo account you can click ‘Open a Demo Account’ and search for Cryptorocket, selecting Cryptorocket-Demo3.
Then fill in the required information and press ‘Create Account’. Make sure you press the sign up to newsletter tick box, and sometimes you need to select the country option again before it will let you proceed. Once your registration is complete your demo account details will appear on screen – and be emailed to you. Press ‘Done’ to finish the process and you’ll be redirected to the chart window.
By tapping the Chart icon you get a full-screen chart. Use the sub-toolbar to make the desired adjustments:
- Time frame (Clock symbol): Choose between different timeframes (M1, M5, M15, M30, H1, H4, D1)
- Symbol (Dollar sign with rotating arrows): Select the instrument to be displayed in the chart window. This is a non-exhaustive list, and if a symbol is missing you’ll need to go to the quotes section of the app in order to add it.
This is one of four areas in the Metatrader 4 apps that you can customise for your preference. The pencil tool lets you delete symbols to trade with, and the plus arrow allows you to add symbols available to this menu also.
To remove an instrument, tap the ‘bin’ icon, select the symbols you wish to remove and press the ‘delete’ button to confirm. To change the order of display, tap and hold the ‘arrow’ icon to the right of the instrument and drag it to the preferred position. By tapping on an instrument, you will see three options:
- New order – Place orders for instant execution or pending orders
- Charts – Open the ‘Chart’ window
- Details – Shows detailed information
In the Trade section you will see your account information: P&L, Balance, Equity, Margin, Free margin and Margin level and below that a summary of your current open positions.
Tap a position to see further information: Stop Loss levels, Take Profit levels, ticket numbers and swap charges.
Open a trade
- Go to ‘Quotes’, tap the instrument you want to trade and select ‘New Order’.
- Tap Android ‘Menu’ and select ‘New Order’
First, select the type of order you wish to place. There are five available types of order:
- Instant Execution (Market Order)
- Buy Limit
- Sell Limit
- Buy Stop
- Sell Stop
Then, select the instrument from the drop down menu, enter the volume you wish to trade and tap ‘next’.
Finally you will be given the option to customise the following two parameters:
- Stop Loss
- Take Profit
After customising the fields, tap ‘buy’ or ‘sell’. Once your trade has been placed, you will receive an execution confirmation that you now hold an open position.
Close a trade
In order to close open positions you have to go to the ‘Trade’ window. Tap and hold the selected position until the sub-menu is displayed and tap ‘Close order’. If you receive a price at which you wish to exit your trade, confirm the volume size and tap ‘next’. When your request has been executed, you will get a confirmation on screen.
Modify an order
To modify an order, you have to go to the Trade window. Select the order you want to modify. Tap and hold to open the sub-menu Modify to change the Stop Loss and/or Take Profit. Adjust the parameters ‘Stop Loss’ and/or ‘Take Profit’ and tap ‘Right key’ to close the keyboard and then ‘Modify’. When your request is approved, you will receive a confirmation.
In this area you have a full overview of your closed trades, cancelled or amended pending orders, deposits and withdrawals. You can customise the time frame, by tapping the ‘clock’ option at the top right. To search the history by instrument, enter the instrument name in the search box.
